What to Include in your Bank Teller Resume

Your bank teller resume is an advertisement of you. You are promoting yourself, as you would promote any product or service, with hope the reader will be persuaded to take action, and call you in for an interview.

When an individual requires resume help, and hires me to produce a bank teller resume, there will not be an objective on the top, but rather a job title the candidate is targeting. Objects sound so contrived and insincere. Often they are filled with double talk that sounds great, but really says nothing. I prefer using job titles when I provide resume help, as they are unmistakable, “in your face,” but can be changed easily enough to target a different job. For instance, if I were writing a bank teller resume, I could simply use the words ‘Bank Teller,’ in large, boldface type, or I could use a title, such as ‘Bank Professional,’ and underneath, provide subcategories, like Bank Teller, Customer Service, or New Accounts. It is obvious, to the reader; this is a bank teller resume, of sorts, but leaves enough room for other “banking” jobs, such as the ones above.

After the job title(s), there are three main categories shown. First are core competencies, which list all the marketable and transferable attributes the client owns. This could include attributes such as, “New Business Development,” “Expense Control,” “Report Generation,” ‘Merchandising,” “Technical Support,” and endless others. This is where it gets interesting, because I can juggle these around to highlight one particular job title, over another. It’s not lying or embellishing; simply adding or omitting skills that were listed.

After this, it gets rather cut and dry. Work history and education are highlighted. Whichever category is most impressive gets emphasized a bit over the other. This way all the most suitable qualities, for a particular job, pop out at the reader.
